  1. Huge tip that really helped my baby have a pleasant bathing experience with no crying since day 1!!
Once you put you baby in the bath, immediately place a handtowel soaked in the warm bath water over the baby so that she remains warm and comfy. My baby’s face scrunched up and was ready to let out a big cry the second she was placed in the bath but as soon as the warm handtowel went over her chest she calmed down and I’ve been doing it ever since 🙂 Hope it helps!!

  2. Thank you for the detailed information, however washing a baby’s head before the body is less safer when it comes to preventing the baby from becoming cold and so forth. It is recommended to wash the head last and this applies to grown ups as well.

  3. @EmmaHubbard My baby is 3 weeks old and has ace on face, chest and back should i continue bathing him. I canged soap from aveeno to ceravare. I also give him a oil massage before bath

  4. When my son was born, I bathed him every morning. To me, newborns wake up smelling sour, and I hated that smell. Plus, by bathing them every morning, it helps prevent them from getting cradle cap. And trust me, you won’t dry out their skin if you bathe them everyday, for that’s a myth. My son is now 8, and he has such soft skin that he doesn’t need lotion when I bathe him every night. Having dry skin is hereditary 🙃!

  5. We bathe our son every second day he’s 11 weeks now. I just use that baby cetaphil wash and lotion. I find that if he goes longer than 2 days without a soak in the tub his bottom starts smelling funky lol.

  6. Please how to rinse the baby effectively from the soap if the water in the bathtub is already with the soap? Is there any advice?thank you

  7. I prefer to bathe the newborn in the sink using a soft baby seat/lounger. There is no space to place the tub somewhere up so for me and my back this works best.

  8. OK so my children are teens now but I always washed faces before putting them in the bath. For hair washing I would take all their clothes and leave the vest and nappy on. I would rap the in a towel a then hold them up against my side with my non dominant hand supporting their head a neck. Then wash their hair over the bath. Then I would finally remove the vest and nappy and go into the bath to wash their body. I just found it easier that way as my children liked to wriggle a lot ever at a very young age and I just gave my piece of mind. For my two the best part of bathing was when the cream was put on

  9. Thanks for the information, have learned new things today , am 28 weeks pregnant first time mom, I completely have no idea how to be a mom…your videos are helpful

  10. My new born since his cord dropped I bath 🛁 him everyday at 19:30 Uhr ⏰ it makes him sleep 😴 really well and every morning i wipe his entire body with warm water with wash cloth to kick start a day ❤❤❤it makes my life so easier 😻😻😻😍😍🥰🥰🥰

  11. Very interesting and informative video! In South India, we bathe the baby everyday, probably because it’s very hot in most places here all year round. The traditional bath is given with the baby lying on the bather’s outstretched legs and can look pretty rough for the uninitiated—the baby is massaged quite vigorously during the bath, plus the water is pretty hot! The belief is that this relieves the body aches from being handled all day and I’ve seen that my baby does sleep much better after the bath. This type of bath requires a lot of skill, though, because you have to balance a squirmy, soapy baby on your legs while pouring water over them with a mug. So we usually hire an experienced elderly woman to come in and give the baths daily.

  12. Our newborn is covered in very dry skin (he was 2 weeks late). Should we still bath him? Will it be sore beneath the dry skin?

  13. I bath my baby 3 times a day and he’s now 2 months. I do this because it’s always hot and dry in my country so he gets sticky and uncomfortable so he can’t go a day without bathing. If I tried to bath him just once a day he wouldn’t sleep because he’ll be hot and uncomfortable.

  14. In west Africa , we bath babies twice a day. Morning and night. We also massage them with oil after the bath. It helps baby sleep better and strengthen spine from the bent position in the womb. Actually helps the skin. It has worked for centuries.

  15. I am a new Father expecting our baby in a little under three months so thank you so much for the video Emma! Question, instead of soap and water could natural oils and water not be used instead? I would assume that would protect the skin from drying out and serve as a very gentle and nourishing alternative to soap bathes.

  16. Great informative video, very cringe to hear an Aussie call nappies “diapers” and call the shit poop(Billy Maddison reference)

  17. Ma’am, when can we start massage before bathing to a newborn. Watching your videos regularly from India.

  18. My baby hated his first baths and he also peed alot and would over fill his diaper and soaked his bed so I had to bath him everyday. You don’t want urine on your baby.

  19. Is a regular washcloth good enough or does it have to be something special for babies?
I, baby daddy, think a regular one would be sufficient and good enough but the baby mommy says it has to be a special one.
Hence I’m asking you, what should we do?

  20. If we do choose to use some mild soap or shampoo, how do you rinse it off properly? it seems like the baby tub would at that point be "contaminated" with the run-off suds, so that water would never be clean enough to rinse with, would it? And since the baby is partially in that water throughout the bathing process, it seems like you would never get rid of all the soap on their skin unless you rinse them outside the tub? But this feels so cumbersome and dangerous to do with a slipper baby. Do you have any recommendations?

  21. Keeping them covered with a warm wet towel is a big help, and for my angelbath seat I put another down for him to sit on. He loves bath time!

  22. going back to husband house after giving birth, mother in law suggest bathing my baby, while my mom at home said no need to bath her yet. but i let mother in law bath her since she insisted and that babies should be bathed after they are born. and she also said to bath her twice everyday, like so different from what you guys are saying to do..

  23. Hi Emma, my 2 year 9month old who is very fond of bathing started hating bath and has been crying a lot since a month. How can I make her enjoy bath time again? Thank you 🙏

  24. I’m due in 2 weeks with my first! I know we don’t have to do a full bath like this right away, but I’m glad I watched your video! So informative. Thank you💕
